Annaberg Sugar Plantation
The Annaberg ruins are the best-preserved colonial-era plantation site on St. John, offering a deep look into the island’s history of sugar production and slavery. Activities: Take a self-guided tour of the windmill tower, boiling house, animal mill, and the remains of the enslaved peoples' quarters. Highlights: Spectacular views over Leinster Bay and the British Virgin Islands. On certain weekdays, "Cultural Ambassadors" demonstrate traditional bread-making and gardening. Cost: Free entry (run by the National Park Service).
