Salt Pond Bay Trail is the practical way to reach one of St. John's quieter south-shore beaches without committing to a long hike. The first section follows an old roadbed from the parking area down to the sand, where a swim or snorkel can be the whole outing. If you want more mileage, Ram Head branches off from the beach and turns the visit into a longer, rockier coastal route with broad views. The setting is closer to Coral Bay and the island's east side than to Cruz Bay, so it works best as part of a planned south-shore day.
