The St. John East End question

East End St. John is for travelers willing to trade convenience for quieter water and longer routes

St. John’s East End is a route-led part of the island. Brown Bay, Haulover, Salt Pond, and Lameshur connect beach, snorkeling, and trail possibilities, but the access roads, limited parking, and distance from Cruz Bay make the order of the day matter. Pick the experience first, then choose the road and return plan.

This is a strong fit for a rental-car or carefully planned taxi day, not a rushed list of stops. Bring water and supplies, allow for uneven or rocky access where relevant, and keep dinner and the ride home in view before leaving the busier west end.

Before you decide

  • Choose one primary bay or trail before adding another stop.
  • Confirm parking, road conditions, and pickup timing.
  • Plan the return to Coral Bay or Cruz Bay before heading farther east.
