Hibiscus Beach

Hibiscus Beach carries the name of a resort that no longer exists in that form. It's named for the former Hibiscus Beach Resort, which later reopened as the Turtle Bay Beach Resort before closing as well — but the beach itself, palm-lined and a little rocky underfoot, remains a popular North Shore St. Croix stop precisely because that rocky bottom makes for good snorkeling, especially toward its western end. Hibiscus adjoins Pelican Cove Beach, so even though Hibiscus itself has no facilities, walking down the sand connects you to Pelican Cove's beachfront restaurant and bar for food and drinks. The two beaches are close enough, and similar enough in character, that longtime visitors sometimes use the names interchangeably. Conditions can shift with the current, so it's worth checking wind and swell before committing to a long snorkel session here rather than treating it as an automatic calm-water day.
