Salomon Beach
Salomon has a history that still shapes how people talk about it, even though it no longer applies: for decades this small, roughly 25-yard strip of sand along the Lind Point Trail was known informally as St. John's one clothing-optional beach, until a 1997 federal court ruling let the National Park enforce territorial nudity laws and ended the practice — a detail longtime visitors and local guides still mention, even though today's beachgoers are fully clothed and the fines for otherwise run over $100. What hasn't changed is the appeal: reached by a roughly one-mile hike from the National Park Visitor Center in Cruz Bay (with a shorter spur splitting off before Honeymoon Beach), Salomon stays genuinely uncrowded, with reviewers regularly reporting only a handful of people even in high season. Snorkeling on the reef between Salomon and Honeymoon Bays gets specific praise as some of the best shallow-water snorkeling on the north shore, accessible to swimmers of any experience level. There are no facilities here at all — no rentals, no food, nothing — so treat it as an extension of the Honeymoon Beach hike rather than a standalone destination.
